Planned Companies is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Handyman/Porter to join their team in Northern Virginia. This full-time position offers a pay rate of $19.00 per hour and requires availability for both day and evening shifts, including possible weekend work. The role involves a blend of janitorial and light handyman duties, ensuring common areas, bathrooms, and other facilities within residential and commercial properties are spotless and well-maintained. The ideal candidate will be bilingual and possess industry experience or a strong willingness to learn essential skills such as floor waxing and carpet cleaning.

The Handyman/Porter position is integral to sustaining property cleanliness and functionality. Responsibilities extend beyond routine cleaning tasks to include minor repairs, painting, and collaborating closely with building management on various projects. Job Requirements

  • Willing to stand on your feet for extended periods
  • must be able to lift 50 pounds or more
  • experience in similar roles using cleaning products and equipment to clean floors and carpets
  • able to work on a team as well as independently
  • strong report writing and clear verbal communication skills
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred

Job Duties

  • Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors of various types
  • stripping, buffing and waxing floors
  • dusting ceilings, light fittings, countertops, and loose furniture
  • scrubbing and sanitizing bathroom toilets, sinks, and kitchen fixtures
  • emptying trash cans and washing and drying windows
  • requesting cleaning supply orders and reporting breakages and needed repairs
  • assisting building management with all projects and other job duties as requested
  • performing light handyman duties
  • performing light painting
