The Pastry Cook/Baker role at Interlachen Country Club is integral to maintaining and elevating our high culinary standards. This is a full-time position with competitive hourly wages ranging from $20 to $23, designed for individuals who are motivated, passionate about baking, and eager to grow their culinary skills within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will join a team of highly skilled chefs from renowned restaurants such as Restaurant Alma, Meritage, Travail, and The Ritz-Carlton, all dedicated to fostering mentorship and continuous improvement. Pastry cooks at Interlachen engage in diverse production duties including creating exquisite mini desserts for events, plating elegant desserts for wine dinners, and performing intricate pastries like layered laminations from scratch. The role requires not only technical baking skills but also a dedication to incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative techniques to continuously raise the standard of our pastry offerings.

Beyond daily baking tasks, the Pastry Cook/Baker is also expected to contribute positively to the team culture, supporting both kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure a seamless operation. We seek a candidate with at least two years of commercial baking experience, proficient knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, and a genuine enthusiasm for learning and growing within the craft.   • Experience producing pastry items in a commercial kitchen from scratch

Job Duties

  • Support our chefs and fellow team members with daily tasks
  • Bake and decorate pastry items for parties and events, a la carte, and banquets
  • Incorporate seasonal ingredients into everyday production
  • Continuously work to improve your craft while always looking for more efficient techniques and new ways to raise our standards
  • Take pride in our food, treating every dish that goes out as your own
  • Support your fellow team members, both back of house and front of house, and contribute to a healthy, positive culture
