Job Requirements
- Active nursing license in state of employment
- minimum of 1-year direct patient contact experience
- ability to pass DHS background check
- knowledge of medical terminology and nursing techniques
- basic mathematics skills
- computer literacy including Microsoft Office
- physical ability to stand most of the time and exert up to 10 pounds occasionally
- ability to operate in an open work area with moderate noise
- excellent communication skills
- mental ability to manage confidential information and follow instructions
- willingness to work at St. Paul Metro and Dakota Treatment Center locations
Job Qualifications

- excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

Job Duties
- Supplies and administers medication pursuant to physician order and records dosage administered in the medical record
- conducts an actual sight and counts inventory of the medication supply daily
- maintains absolute accuracy in daily accounting of medication that is supplied or administered in inventory
- assumes responsibility for safeguarding medication inventory
- collects fees and performs daily cash reconciliation in the absence of a cashier position
- receives and ensures the accuracy of incoming medication shipments and advises necessary staff of any discrepancies
- ensures disposal of medical waste through proper protocol
- observes patient’s demeanor prior to dosing and communicates issues to Medical Director or Registered Nurse
- contacts other centers to verify dosages as needed
- administers lab tests including vital signs and TB tests
- schedules and screens patients to be seen by the Medical Director
- assists in collecting data for history and physicals
- makes medical record entries as directed
- ensures medical orders are documented and understood
- maintains confidentiality and complies with federal and state privacy rules
- obtains and maintains proper licensure
- participates in CARF preparation and state audits
- complies with all applicable rules and policies
- interfaces with the public and patients by answering phones, greeting visitors, and monitoring patient activities
