Job Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent
- food service experience in a treatment center, health care or treatment center setting preferred
- ability to concentrate on work amidst distractions such as noise, conversations and foot traffic
- experience in meeting deadlines and finishing food preparation at specified serving times
- able to use kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, mixers and dishwashers
- knowledge of hygiene factors involved in food preparation
- able to work independently in a physically demanding environment
- maintains confidentiality of patients
- sensitivity to diverse social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds
- good judgment
- able to read, write and communicate in English
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Duties
- Assemble and prepare food and snacks as directed
- prepare and serve meals for patients, employees and guests
- organize and deliver prepared food to patient areas
- properly process, store, and prepare food on a tight timeline
- maintain high level of kitchen sanitation related to food preparation, dish room activities and employee’s personal hygiene
- consistent documentation of food labeling, dating and kitchen procedures
- serve behavioral health patients and staff with a friendly and helpful demeanor at all times
