Job Requirements

  • Minimum of three years cooking experience in a professional kitchen
  • Ability to read and understand English instructions
  • Ability to perform simple math including measurements and conversions
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
  • Must be ServeSafe Certified or obtain certification within six months
  • Ability to maintain personal hygiene and follow dress code
  • Ability to attend training sessions and follow policies

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English
  • Communicates effectively
  • Performs simple arithmetic
  • Ability to understand measurements and conversions
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, club, or similar institution
  • Culinary advanced education is a plus
  • Ability to plan and organize work
  • Ability to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications, and standards
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance
  • Some knowledge of nutrition and diet
  • ServeSafe Certified or ability to become certified within six months of hire date

Job Duties

  • Maintains assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition
  • Maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code including federal and state regulations
  • Attends and completes in-service training and education sessions as assigned
  • Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
  • Follows Marquette policies and procedures
  • Prepares food items as per standardized recipes
  • Adheres to all food safety and sanitation standards
