In this role of Full Time Lead Cook - Memory Care, you will be an integral part of the Benchmark team, responsible for preparing delicious and nutritious meals that cater specifically to the dietary needs of memory care residents. The position involves following all applicable federal, state, and local health guidelines and regulations, as well as adhering to Benchmark’s established policies and procedures. Under the supervision of the Food Services Director, you will manage food preparation activities to ensure cuisine quality, presentation, and safety are consistent with the organization’s standards. This role offers stable, reliable hours designed to promote a healthy work-life balance, ideal for individuals passionate about cooking and committed to making a positive difference in senior care.

As a Lead Cook, you will oversee the kitchen’s daily functions, including operating various kitchen equipment such as meat slicers, food processors, mixers, ovens, grills, and steamers safely and efficiently. You will guide team members in setting up the food production line to guarantee meals are served on time while maintaining excellent food quality and presentation. This role also involves engaging with potential residents and their families in a positive and professional manner, representing Benchmark with pride and professionalism. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in a kitchen management or chef role within a food service environment, possess leadership qualities, and be knowledgeable about dietary procedures and food service regulations. An associate’s degree in culinary arts is preferred but not mandatory.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of three years' experience as a chef/kitchen manager in a food service environment
  • Associate's degree in culinary arts program preferred
  • Must have knowledge of dietary procedures, as well as related laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to food service operations
  • Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel
  • Be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • This is primarily a standing position, may need to stand in one place for extended periods of time

Job Qualifications
