Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years of host experience in a full-service restaurant
  • Availability to work weekends and 30 to 35 hours per week
  • Ability to handle a wait time of 1 to 2 hours for dine-in guests
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate positively with guests and team members
  • Commitment to working for at least one year with DERU Market

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1 to 2 years of quality, fast-paced host experience at a full-service restaurant
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Ability to work on feet and lift loads over 25 pounds
  • Positive attitude and high energy
  • Willingness to learn and participate in ongoing training
  • Previous leadership experience is a plus but not required

Job Duties

  • Manage high-volume online waitlist and guest communication at the host stand
  • Balance phone and to-go orders while maintaining positive guest interactions
  • Participate actively in front-of-house training classes and assist in training new employees
  • Attend pre-shift staff meetings and conduct post-shift checkouts with the team
  • Understand menu ingredients thoroughly and confidently sell food and beverage items
  • Anticipate guest needs quickly to provide excellent customer service
  • Respond positively to feedback and demonstrate eagerness to learn and grow
