Job Requirements

  • Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
  • Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • 1 to 2 years of experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs
  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience including training and coaching employees
  • Ability to use retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, and lift up to 15 pounds
  • Experience working in a Lowe's retail environment is preferred
  • Knowledge of safety and security procedures
  • Ability to multitask effectively under pressure

Job Duties

  • Demonstrates ability to monitor and identify customers who need assistance at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
  • Approaches and interacts with customers to proactively recommend products and services appropriately
  • Proactively greets, assists, and engages with multiple customers on multiple registers at the same time
  • Moves throughout the checkout area standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and moving product to ensure accurate completion of transactions
  • Thanks the customer for their business and invites them back to shop at Lowe's
  • Provides SMART customer service by executing Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs
  • Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
  • Listens and responds knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions
  • Demonstrates sincere appreciation to customers
  • Communicates information about stock, special orders, features, warranties, and Lowe's programs
  • Coaches, develops, provides feedback, and trains associates
  • Uses cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds
  • Provides proper monetary change to front-end associates
  • Provides supervision, coaching, and support to front-end team
  • Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise
  • Answers and directs incoming phone calls
  • Opens additional registers as necessary
  • Assists in line vesting for quicker checkout
  • Prepares register area by confirming functionality and stocking supplies
  • Inspects returned merchandise for damages
  • Enters and submits customer orders, prints order tickets, and verifies receipts
  • Reviews and places online orders and returned merchandise in the correct areas
  • Looks up product information and competitor prices for price matching
  • Records all store-used items on use lists
  • Obtains safety bags and monitors cash in drawers
  • Monitors merchandise entering and leaving store and assists customers or associates who trigger alarms
  • Detects signs of shoplifting and other risks and reports to management or asset protection
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization through housekeeping programs
  • Maintains a safe and secure work environment with daily reviews, hazard noting, and securing areas
  • Adheres to safety requirements such as top stock safety, use of safety cables, aisle blockers, and safety devices
  • Operates store equipment such as Zebra phones, paging systems, copiers, fax machines, CCTV, key cutters, panel saws, paint mixers, flooring cutters, and compact balers
  • Performs other assigned duties as necessary
