Job Requirements
- Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smart phones and tablets
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- Must be able to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation

- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1 to 2 years of experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and explaining warranties, product features, and benefits preferred
- 1 to 2 years of experience as a head cashier preferred
- 1 to 2 years of experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store preferred
- 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees preferred
- Less than 1 year of retail experience detecting signs of shoplifting such as merchandise hidden in containers, under carts, or price label switching preferred.
Job Duties
- Monitor and identify customers who need assistance at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
- Approach and interact with customers to proactively recommend products and services appropriately
- Greet, assist, and engage with multiple customers on multiple registers at the same time
- Move throughout the checkout area standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and moving products for accurate transaction completion
- Thank customers for their business and invite them back to shop at Lowe's
- Provide SMART customer service by following Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs
- Assist customers in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
- Listen and respond knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions, guiding them through projects if needed
- Show sincere appreciation to customers
- Communicate information regarding stock, special orders, merchandise features, benefits, applications, and warranties
- Coach, develop, and train associates in departmental duties or sales opportunities
- Use cash registers to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds according to company guidelines
- Provide monetary change to cashiers for register activities
- Supervise, coach, and support CSA front-end team members
- Remove security tags, verify product information, and bag merchandise
- Answer incoming phone calls and direct calls or take messages
- Open additional registers to ensure adequate coverage
- Assist in line vesting to expedite checkout
- Prepare register area before and after shifts by checking equipment and stocking supplies
- Inspect returned merchandise for damages
- Enter and submit customer orders, print order tickets, verify receipts, and sign off on loading tickets
- Manage online orders and returned merchandise appropriately
- Look up product information and competitor prices to verify price matches
- Record items used in the store on store use lists
- Obtain safety bags from the cash office and monitor cash drawer limits
- Monitor store entrances and exits for security and assist those who trigger alarms
- Detect signs of shoplifting, theft, or security risks and report them promptly
- Maintain housekeeping standards and cleanliness of store and working areas
- Ensure a safe and secure work environment by conducting safety reviews, noting hazards, and keeping aisles clear
- Comply with safety requirements relevant to the job duties including use of safety equipment and procedures
- Operate store equipment such as phones, paging systems, copiers, fax machines, CCTV, key cutters, panel saws, paint mixers, flooring cutters, and compactors as needed
- Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
