The Front Office Manager plays a critical leadership role within The Singer Oceanfront Resort by ensuring an exceptional level of customer service is maintained at all times. This role involves managing and training the front office staff to meet hotel standards while fostering employee empowerment and positive leadership. The manager is responsible for maintaining budgeted financial targets, overseeing human resources functions including recruitment, training, and performance management, and ensuring operational excellence through constant monitoring and compliance with internal audits and safety standards.
This is a full-time role that demands a proactive leader with strong communication and organizational skills, able to handle multiple responsibilities from coordinating VIP transportation to managing payroll reports. The ideal candidate will bring at least two years of departmental management experience in a front office or related field, with Hilton and OnQ system experience preferred. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years departmental management experience in front office or related disciplines
- Ability to manage and lead department independently
- Ability to handle cash and financial transactions
- Effective communication skills
- Proficiency in English
- Basic computer skills
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Compliance with employment and safety laws
- Ability to maintain a safe and organized work environment
- Authorization to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- College level reasoning, math, and language skills
- Two years prior departmental management experience in front office or related disciplines
- Time management and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage and lead each discipline of the department independently
- Ability to manage according to employment and innkeeper laws of the jurisdiction
- Prior cash handling experience necessary
- Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees
- Read, write and speak English fluently
- Computer experience required
- No employee will pose a direct threat to the health or safety of self or others
- Hilton experience preferred
- OnQ experience preferred
Job Duties
- Assure property operation meets internal audit standards
- Coordinate guest and group transportation needs
- Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics which inspire employees to meet and exceed standards
- Maintain work area neat and organized
- Monitor payroll hours and reports
- Promote employee empowerment
- Report all unsafe conditions immediately
- Select, train, supervise, schedule, develop, discipline, and counsel employees according to Davidson policies and procedures
- Attend meetings as well as schedule and conduct departmental meetings
- Complete other duties as assigned including cross training
- Complete reports and paperwork such as forecasts, annual budgets, and action plans
- Coordinate all VIP transportation to and from the hotel
- Coordinate delivery of amenities
- Coordinate the arrival and departure of all tour and organized groups
- Oversee pick-up and delivery of all hotel dry cleaning
- Conduct performance appraisals occasionally
