Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in cooking or food preparation preferred
  • ability to adhere to dietary restrictions and food safety standards
  • physically able to perform required duties including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods
  • compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies
  • valid ServSafe or Food Handler certification if required by local law
  • ability to communicate effectively with team and residents
  • willing to complete safety and sanitation training

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience as a cook or in food preparation is preferred
  • ability to follow recipes and accommodate dietary restrictions
  • maintain a positive attitude and effectively communicate with residents, staff, and leadership
  • compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies
  • must be able to lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 pounds
  • capable of standing, bending, and walking for extended periods
  • ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks continuously
  • must be able to work around food and cleaning products
  • completion of an approved sanitation and safety course may be required
  • current ServSafe or Food Handler certification required based on State/County law
  • residency within the service area is required

Job Duties

  • prepare and cook meals based on planned menus and recipes
  • ensure the quality, taste, and presentation of food meet HCSG standards
  • follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • maintain a tidy and organized kitchen
  • assist in inventory management and assist with ordering supplies
  • engage positively with residents, staff, and guests while providing excellent customer service
  • fulfill all other duties as assigned
