Job Description
Goodwill Industries is a renowned nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals by providing job training, employment placement services, and support for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment. Established with a mission to empower communities and promote economic self-sufficiency, Goodwill has a presence throughout the United States, including a corporate office located in Peoria, Illinois. The Peoria corporate office serves as a hub for administrative support and organizational operations, ensuring that Goodwill’s services reach as many people as possible effectively and efficiently.
This specific opportunity is for a full-time Corporate Receptionist position based on-site at Goodwill’s corporate office in Peoria, IL. This role operates during regular business hours Monday through Friday and offers an hourly wage ranging between $15 and $17, inclusive of a full benefits package. The Corporate Receptionist is a vital member of the team, acting as the first point of contact for visitors, employees, vendors, and callers, facilitating communication within the organization and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
The Corporate Receptionist’s responsibilities extend beyond typical receptionist duties, as this role also plays a crucial part in building security and access management. Responsibilities include screening incoming telephone calls, greeting and directing visitors, managing visitor logs and distributing access badges, and overseeing building entry systems to ensure security protocols are followed. The receptionist supports security operations by monitoring surveillance systems and reporting concerns, contributing to the overall safety of the corporate facility.
With proficiency in common office technologies such as G Suite and MS Office, and familiarity with security systems and building access technologies, the receptionist is expected to manage administrative tasks, support internal projects, and maintain orderly front office logistics. This position demands a high degree of professionalism and excellent communication skills to effectively interact with diverse customers, colleagues, and vendors, ensuring excellent customer service and positive representation of Goodwill’s values and mission.
Goodwill values candidates without strict educational requirements but emphasizes the importance of demonstrated capability, a customer-focused mindset, ethical behavior, organizational skills, adaptability, and critical thinking. The position requires physical ability to sit or stand for extended periods, moderate lifting, and keen visual acuity. All candidates will be subject to a pre-employment background check to ensure workplace safety.
The benefits program for this full-time role includes continuing education and leadership development opportunities, comprehensive healthcare plans including life, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, sabbatical and parental leave options, disability coverage, wellness programs, flexible spending accounts, and retirement plans with a generous company match. Goodwill’s commitment to inclusivity is reflected in its equal employment opportunity policies, supporting diversity among all employees including veterans and disabled individuals.
