We are currently seeking talented cooks to join our culinary team and contribute to the exceptional living experience we offer at Tenfold Senior Living. In this role, you will be an integral part of a welcoming community, working closely with both residents and teammates to prepare meals that are not only nutritious but also comforting and reflective of our residents' diverse backgrounds and preferences. As a cook, your ultimate responsibility will be to deliver a superior culinary experience that enhances the quality of life for each resident by understanding and addressing their unique dietary needs and preferences. This position requires a passion for cooking, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety within the kitchen and dining areas.

Your day-to-day duties will involve preparing a variety of dishes based on customized resident orders and established menu plans developed in collaboration with our Culinary Director. You will ensure that all food preparation aligns with standardized recipes and quality standards, helping to create meals that are interesting, unique, traditional, and reminiscent of the residents' own life experiences. The role also includes responsibilities such as maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen, servery, and dining venues following best practices and regulatory compliance to uphold food safety standards mandated by applicable agencies.

We provide a schedule that offers consistent shifts, either Wednesday through Sunday or Friday through Tuesday, from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., allowing for work-life balance. Job Requirements

  • Culinary and nutritional education, preferred
  • ServSafe food handling certification, preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience being part of a culinary team
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cooking methods and techniques
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to handle tools such as knife techniques for chopping, slicing, cutting and dicing
  • Experience interacting with and deeply relating to seniors
  • Meets all applicable licensing and background requirements
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work Wednesday - Sunday or Friday - Tuesday, 11 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Job Duties

  • Ensure residents experience an excellent culinary experience with foods that are interesting, surprising, unique, comforting, traditional and reminiscent of their life experiences
  • Follow standard procedures and best practices to ensure the meticulous cleanliness of the kitchen, servery and three dining venues
  • Follow standard procedures and best practices to maintain regulatory compliance with all applicable agencies on all matters related to food service and safety
  • Collaborate in preparing dishes based on resident orders or agreed menu planning consistent with recipes and standards established by the Culinary Director
  • Perform routine kitchen tasks following the prep and production list created by management
  • Set up workstations and stock ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes
  • Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
  • Label all ingredients prepared so they can be used in cooking
