Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food handler's certification prior to start
  • Valid California driver's license
  • Current TB test clearance renewed yearly
  • Current and valid CPR and First Aid certification on file renewed yearly
  • Ability to pass criminal background check
  • Often required to stand and sit
  • reach with hands and arms
  • stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and in some instances up to 40 pounds
  • Experience preparing meals in a residential setting preferred
  • Completion of background check, TB test, drug screen, and pre-employment physical
  • Willingness to obtain First Aid and CPR certification upon hire if not current
  • DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance or exemption and signed Criminal Record Statement for mental health and eating disorder programs
  • Compliance with all state and governing bodies vaccine mandates

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience preparing meals in a residential setting preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation
  • Familiarity with standard culinary practices
  • Ability to handle and prepare food under ServeSafe standards
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to follow specific dietary plans and restrictions

Job Duties

  • Planning and providing all meals for clients and staff
  • Ensuring kitchen safety including cleaning spills and securing harmful items
  • Notifying staff of emergency situations promptly
  • Following a menu to prepare meats, fish, poultry, and vegetables
  • Considering food allergies, preferences, and individual meal plans
  • Maintaining safe food standards, sanitation, and proper food temperatures
  • Communicating unsafe conditions and defective equipment and notifying maintenance
  • Creating and managing food supply purchases and menu development
