We are currently hiring a Full-Time Chef (Ethnic) at our Northgate location in Winnipeg, MB. This role plays a vital part in maintaining our commitment to quality food preparation and exceptional customer service. As a Chef, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and executing various food items regularly while supporting the implementation of new menu items based on established recipes and restaurant programs. You will assist the Restaurant Manager with training and coaching team members to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures, thereby supporting department goals around quality control and shrink control. Managing inventory levels and coordinating with the Restaurant Manager on ordering needs will also be among your key responsibilities.
The Chef role emphasizes fostering a positive work environment that centers on the principle of Always Customer First service. You will handle customer inquiries, ensuring a positive experience while maintaining strict compliance with food safety standards. Maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment is critical to this position, including cleaning equipment and work areas regularly. The role may also require using a variety of kitchen equipment, including knives and other culinary tools, to prepare ethnic dishes primarily focused on Asian cuisine, including dim sum, BBQ, and stir fry.
Ideal candidates will possess a passion for great food and outstanding service, backed by at least one year of previous restaurant experience. Food Safe Certification is considered an asset, as is fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese, supporting our culturally diverse clientele.
