Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 1-3 months of cashiering experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work varied schedules including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance
- Basic math skills including the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percents
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence
- Ability to present information clearly in small group or individual settings
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Job Duties
- Greet all customers when entering and exiting the store
- Promote the Scheels Visa Rewards card and explain all benefits clearly
- Accurately balance cash drawer at the end of the day
- Maintain a clean working environment and personal workspace
- Engage in conversation with customers to personalize each transaction
- End each transaction by thanking every customer
- Maintain a professional appearance on the sales floor
- Contribute to a positive work environment promoting team pride and personal growth
- Perform basic math including computing rates, ratios, and percents
- Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Write simple correspondence
- Present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations
- Demonstrate strong communication, organization, attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Show initiative and vision for continuous improvement while fostering a positive team atmosphere
- Exercise judgment and tact in interactions with customers and co-workers
- Communicate effectively and timely with all levels of the organization
- Work assigned schedules including varied hours, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Assist in all other duties as assigned
