Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of experience in a full production kitchen or equivalent
  • Food Handler certificate preferred
  • Ability to read write and understand English
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to use kitchen equipment and utensils
  • Ability to stand or move for prolonged hours
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds
  • Availability to work flexible shifts including nights weekends and holidays
  • On-site work required
  • Pass background check
  • Comply with all federal state and local employment laws

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least one year of experience in a full production kitchen or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Food Handler certificate from County of San Diego preferred
  • Ability to read write and understand English
  • Basic math skills including counting adding subtracting multiplying dividing and recipe scaling
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to use kitchen equipment and utensils
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to carry out written or oral instructions

Job Duties

  • Prepare food products as assigned by Catering Chef, Sous Chefs, Kitchen Manager following established recipes and standards
  • Read and understand prep sheets as well as event sheets
  • Ensure product quality by following food handling procedures and sanitation guidelines
  • Operate maintain and clean grill kitchen and production equipment safely and efficiently
  • Assist with inventory process accuracy recording of spoilage and product transfers reporting discrepancies to manager or supervisor
  • Take responsibility for cleanliness and orderly appearance of the unit or event including restocking and emptying trash
  • Prepare all food in a timely tasty and eye-appealing manner with correct seasoning
