Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in baking or pastry arts preferred
  • Ability to work early morning hours
  • Knowledge of food safety standards
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle kitchen equipment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a baker, pastry chef or similar role is plus
  • Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders and dough sheeters
  • Understanding of food safety practices
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
  • Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
  • Flexibility to work in early morning shifts
  • Certification from a culinary school is a plus
  • Speaking English and Spanish is a plus

Job Duties

  • Open the bakery early in the morning (5:30am - 11:00am)
  • Ensure food safety standards
  • Clean kitchen equipment and tools before/after use
  • Mix various ingredients to create fillings for breads and pies (e.g. cream and fruits)
  • Track food supplies and place orders, as needed
  • Train team members if needed
  • Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes and select pastries
  • Build, ice, and decorate cakes and other bakery goods following recipe instructions
  • Maintain the cake display case and fill it with designated cakes and pastries
  • Manage and complete daily production list requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Maintain inventory and report as assigned
