Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in baking or pastry arts preferred
- Ability to work early morning hours
- Knowledge of food safety standards
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle kitchen equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Experience as a baker, pastry chef or similar role is plus
- Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders and dough sheeters
- Understanding of food safety practices
- Excellent time-management skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
- Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
- Flexibility to work in early morning shifts
- Certification from a culinary school is a plus
- Speaking English and Spanish is a plus
Job Duties
- Open the bakery early in the morning (5:30am - 11:00am)
- Ensure food safety standards
- Clean kitchen equipment and tools before/after use
- Mix various ingredients to create fillings for breads and pies (e.g. cream and fruits)
- Track food supplies and place orders, as needed
- Train team members if needed
- Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes and select pastries
- Build, ice, and decorate cakes and other bakery goods following recipe instructions
- Maintain the cake display case and fill it with designated cakes and pastries
- Manage and complete daily production list requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Maintain inventory and report as assigned
