Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to complete all required company training including food sanitation and safety programs
- Ability to adhere to company attendance and punctuality policies
- Ability to follow safety regulations and use equipment properly
- Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to shifting priorities
- Ability to maintain personal grooming and dress according to company standards
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
- One to three months of related experience or training preferred
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write simple correspondence in English
- Effective oral communication skills for interacting with customers and associates
- Basic math skills including adding and subtracting two-digit numbers and handling money
- Ability to follow detailed but uncomplicated oral and written instructions
- Willingness to complete company training programs relating to customer service, food safety, and product knowledge
- Ability to work safely with food products and equipment
- Strong interpersonal skills, including adaptability, dependability, and customer service orientation
- Ability to maintain professional grooming and dress standards consistent with company policy
Job Duties
- Take excellent care of customers by satisfying their needs and exceeding expectations
- Prepare, process, package, and stock fresh food products according to company standards
- Provide customer service including answering questions, assisting with product location, and fulfilling special requests
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas including prep rooms, coolers, and display counters
- Unload stock and reload salvage products following Fresh Foods Receiving and Rotation standards
- Decorate bakery items and create party trays as specified
- Operate equipment safely to prepare, portion, and package food products
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members regarding promotions and product information
- Ensure all fresh foods are properly refrigerated and monitor temperatures
- Comply with company safety, sanitation, and food safety policies
- Assist with inventory, price changes, and restocking to optimize sales and minimize shrink
- Follow company policies, procedures, and standards consistently
- Support fellow associates and contribute to a team-oriented work environment
- Use judgment to handle customer complaints by directing to management when necessary
