Job Requirements

  • Food Handler certificate from County of San Diego preferred
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English
  • Basic math skills required
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to use a computer
  • Must be physically able to stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must comply with all sanitation and safety guidelines
  • Ability to work in a high-volume production setting
  • Must be able to communicate effectively
  • Ability to report deficiencies and follow safety protocols
  • Background check required

Job Qualifications

  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Experience in pastry making and cake decoration
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to operate a variety of kitchen utensils, machines and equipment
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment

Job Duties

  • Prepares bakery products in high volume as assigned by production records
  • Follows approved recipes and standards for consistency and accuracy of products
  • Performs pastry and cake decoration using piping skills
  • Ices and cuts cakes, sheet cakes and bars
  • Works independently from a catering book or order guide to fulfill orders
  • Plans product production based on received orders
  • Maintains cleanliness of workstations at all times
  • Follows all sanitation and safety guidelines
  • Operates and maintains kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Accepts deliveries and stores raw food products according to health and safety standards
  • Assists with stocking and rotating warehouse deliveries
  • Assists with inventory counting
  • Complies with company policies and federal, state, and local laws
  • Performs other duties as assigned
