Sonesta International Hotels stands as the 8th largest hotel company in the United States and continues to expand rapidly. This renowned hospitality enterprise boasts a diverse portfolio of over 1000 properties spread across eight countries. Sonesta's collection ranges from full-service luxury hotels to focused, strategically-located properties in major cities, offering guests a unique blend of comfort, convenience, and authentic hospitality. At the core of Sonesta’s mission lies a commitment to delivering exceptional human-centered service that fosters connections and loyalty with every guest. Their brand promise, expressed through the philosophy "Together We Thrive," encapsulates their dedication to quality, value, and memorable guest experiences that resonate globally.
The Night Auditor position at Sonesta International Hotels plays a critical role in this mission by ensuring seamless financial integrity and delivering outstanding guest service during overnight operations. This role involves accurately balancing all hotel income and expenses for each 24-hour operational period and supporting the front desk during the overnight shift. As the liaison for hotel systems during the nighttime hours, the Night Auditor is responsible for monitoring operational systems such as Opera and SynXis, promptly addressing any technical difficulties by coordinating with system support. The position requires meticulous attention to detail to audit room revenue, food and beverage income, telephone charges, and room tax while preparing comprehensive daily management and accounting reports.
Apart from accounting responsibilities, the Night Auditor serves as a guest service ambassador by registering guests, issuing room keys, managing reservations, addressing inquiries, and promoting Sonesta's Travel Pass rewards program. This multifaceted role demands strong communication and customer service skills to ensure guest satisfaction and retention during overnight hours. Additionally, the Night Auditor may assist with setup and service of complimentary breakfast, hotel laundry tasks, and act as a security point of contact, emphasizing the dynamic and hands-on nature of the role. Collaboration with managerial staff is essential to resolve accounting discrepancies and uphold the high standards of operational excellence that Sonesta Hotels are known for.
Sonesta International Hotels also emphasizes compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including alcohol service laws, health and safety guidelines, and security protocols. This role calls for flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, along with the physical ability to perform duties such as lifting, standing for extended periods, and handling hotel equipment. The Night Auditor position is ideal for individuals who possess a keen analytical mindset, strong organizational skills, and a passion for delivering superior guest experiences within a vibrant hotel environment.
Sonesta International Hotels is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and inclusiveness. They offer a comprehensive benefits package to support employees’ health, financial security, and professional growth. If you aspire to contribute to a globally recognized hospitality leader and thrive in a fast-paced, guest-focused setting, the Night Auditor role at Sonesta provides a rewarding career opportunity with significant potential for advancement and personal development.
