Joining ALDI as an Assistant Store Manager gives you a critical leadership role responsible for supporting day-to-day store operations and helping to drive sales and customer satisfaction. This full-time position involves supervising and motivating store personnel while ensuring that store performance meets or exceeds company goals. You will assist in managing employee schedules, implementing operational action plans, and identifying training needs to foster team development. Your responsibilities will include maintaining store cleanliness, adhering to inventory and cash control procedures, overseeing product merchandising to maximize sales, and resolving customer concerns in the absence of the direct leader. The position typically involves working an average of 38 hours per week, starting at $25.50 per hour with a wage increase to $26.50 in the second year. Job Requirements

  • must be 18 years of age or older
  • ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations
  • ability to stock merchandise and lift up to 45 pounds
  • ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, carry, and walk in the store regularly
  • ability to safely operate equipment including electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler
  • ability to comply with company policies and procedures
  • ability to handle confidential information responsibly
  • must meet any state and local legal requirements for employment such as drug tests and motor vehicle checks
  • ability to work full-time schedule averaging 38 hours per week

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • minimum of 3 years progressive experience in a retail environment

Job Duties

  • assist the direct leader with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results
  • establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports
  • identify training and development opportunities for direct reports
  • understand and communicate company strategy and core values to create teamwork
  • monitor competitive environment and inform leader of necessary adjustments
  • provide product feedback and recommendations
  • participate in interviewing store personnel
  • communicate weekly information, milestones, developments, and concerns
  • ensure adherence to inventory procedures, product handling guidelines, and cash control policies
  • resolve operational customer concerns in leader's absence
  • identify and rectify hazards, maintain store equipment
  • maintain store cleanliness and signage
  • assist with product ordering and merchandising
  • ensure quality and freshness of products and accuracy of signage
  • assist with store payroll, loss budget, inventory counts, and training new employees
  • supervise day-to-day team operations and escalate issues as needed
  • ensure timely and effective completion of assigned responsibilities
  • comply with company policies, security, and confidentiality
  • perform other duties as assigned
