Job Description

ALDI is a global leader in the grocery retail industry, committed to providing customers with high-quality products at affordable prices in a clean and friendly shopping environment. As a major retailer with a strong presence across the United States and around the world, ALDI has built its reputation on efficiency, simplicity, and exceptional customer service. The company operates as a discount supermarket chain, offering a carefully curated selection of products that meet stringent quality standards while keeping costs low for shoppers. ALDI values innovation, sustainability, and creating a positive workplace culture where employees can grow and thrive.

Joining ALDI as an Assistant Store Manager offers an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role in a fast-paced retail environment. As a full-time team member working approximately 38 hours per week, you will assist in managing day-to-day store operations, ensuring that the store performs at its highest level. This position comes with a competitive starting wage of $26.00 per hour, with an increase to $27.00 per hour in the second year, reflecting the company’s commitment to rewarding dedication and performance.

The Assistant Store Manager plays a vital role in supporting the Store Manager by helping to develop and implement operational action plans that drive sales, improve efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction. This role requires overseeing staff schedules, monitoring store standards related to inventory, merchandising, and cleanliness, and responding promptly to operational challenges or customer concerns in the absence of the Store Manager. By establishing clear job responsibilities and performance expectations for team members, you will foster an environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

ALDI encourages its Assistant Store Managers to identify and act on training opportunities that help build team skills and promote professional growth. This position involves participating in the recruitment process, contributing valuable feedback on product selection, and staying aware of the competitive local retail environment to maintain ALDI’s market position. The role is physically engaging, requiring the ability to stock and merchandise products, including handling merchandise weighing up to 45 pounds, and performing cleaning duties to maintain the store's presentation.

Effective communication is paramount in this role, as you will be responsible for sharing important updates, milestones, and concerns within your team, ensuring everyone is aligned with company values and goals. ALDI’s Assistant Store Managers demonstrate excellent leadership qualities by motivating team members, managing costs such as payroll and inventory losses, and adhering strictly to company policies and procedures to ensure operational integrity and security.

In return for your commitment and expertise, ALDI offers a comprehensive benefits package to its full-time employees, which includes medical, prescription, dental, and vision insurance, paid vacation and holidays, paid parental and caregiver leave, and retirement plans with company matching contributions. ALDI’s supportive work environment emphasizes equal opportunity, diversity, and respect for all employees, making it a rewarding place to build a long-term career in retail management. This role is ideal for individuals with strong leadership skills, retail experience, and a passion for helping teams succeed while delivering an exceptional shopping experience for customers.
