The role of Fresh Foods Department Supervisor at Harris Teeter is a critical position responsible for ensuring excellent care of customers by meeting and exceeding their expectations during each shopping visit. This supervisory role involves managing up to 80 associates within the Fresh Foods Department and assisting the Department Manager with the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of departmental operations. The Fresh Foods Department offers a wide selection of products and amenities, including bakery, chef-prepared items, sushi, and specialty bars, requiring a leader who understands both product knowledge and management skills.

In this role, you will perform various supervisory duties such as overseeing personnel by interviewing, training, and managing associates, planning and directing work schedules, evaluating individual and team performance, as well as addressing complaints and resolving workplace issues effectively. Job Requirements

high school diploma or GED
one to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination
commitment to unparalleled customer service
excellent communication and interpersonal skills
ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure
ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence in English
ability to write simple correspondence in English
ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations
knowledge of HT Internet, e-mail, inventory, spreadsheet, and word processing software
ability to perform basic mathematical operations using American money and measurements
ability to apply common sense understanding to execute instructions
completion of company training including new hire orientation, customer service network, safety, food safety, and department manager training
ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk, hear, taste, smell

ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds regularly and up to 60 pounds occasionally

Job Duties
