Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • one to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination
  • commitment to unparalleled customer service
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure
  • ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence in English
  • ability to write simple correspondence in English
  • ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations
  • knowledge of HT Internet, e-mail, inventory, spreadsheet, and word processing software
  • ability to perform basic mathematical operations using American money and measurements
  • ability to apply common sense understanding to execute instructions
  • completion of company training including new hire orientation, customer service network, safety, food safety, and department manager training
  • ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk, hear, taste, smell
  • occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch
  • ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds regularly and up to 60 pounds occasionally

Job Qualifications

  • ability to work effectively under pressure and multitask
  • ability to read and write simple correspondence in English

Job Duties

  • take excellent care of customers by satisfying needs and exceeding expectations
  • manage and supervise up to 80 associates in the Fresh Foods Department
  • assist the Department Manager with overall direction, coordination, and evaluation
  • perform supervisory responsibilities such as interviewing, training, planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining associates
  • address complaints and resolve problems
  • perform duties of baker/fryer, cake decorator, Fresh Foods clerks, and chef as needed
  • participate in training and team orientation to increase customer satisfaction and sales
