Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group is a leading family-owned Asian dining company that has been serving delicious and authentic cuisine since 1983. Founded in Glendale, California, Panda Restaurant Group has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in America, boasting nearly 2,300 locations worldwide. The company operates multiple dining concepts including the original Panda Inn fine dining restaurants, Panda Express fast casual gourmet Chinese food, and Hibachi San Japanese grill. Known for its enduring commitment to quality and guest satisfaction, Panda Restaurant Group continues to expand while staying true to its core values of proactive service, respect, growth, great operations, and giving back to the community. This mission-driven organization fosters a workplace culture that inspires employees to improve their lives, reflecting a strong family-oriented environment under the leadership of founders Andrew and Peggy Cherng.
The role of Server at Panda Restaurant Group is an essential position dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service and enhancing guest experiences. Servers are responsible for greeting guests promptly, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of the food and beverage menus, and ensuring every dining experience is memorable and enjoyable. The position requires a welcoming attitude and a professional approach to guest interactions, prioritizing customer satisfaction through efficient service and attention to detail. Serving involves not only taking and delivering orders but also providing recommendations, handling special requests, and managing the dining area with cleanliness and organization. The Server plays a key role in maximizing sales opportunities by suggesting additional menu items such as drinks, appetizers, and desserts.
This position offers flexible schedules and competitive pay ranging from $17.5 to $20.5 per hour, with pay determined by factors including work location and experience. Panda Restaurant Group invests in its people by providing active training, career growth, and leadership development opportunities. Full-time associates benefit from extensive healthcare packages, including medical, vision, dental, short-term disability, and cancer income protection insurance. Additional benefits include health and dependent care flexible spending accounts, 401(k) with company match, paid vacation, sick leave, bereavement leave, a leave share program, employee discounts, referral bonuses, and community involvement opportunities.
Employees must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment characterized by hot kitchen areas, standing for extended periods, and handling moderate physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs and using kitchen equipment safely. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to adapt to dynamic situations are crucial for success in this role. Panda Restaurant Group fosters an inclusive work environment valuing diversity and equal opportunities for all, including those with disabilities who may require accommodations.
Joining Panda Restaurant Group as a Server means becoming part of a nationwide family-focused company that values its employees and offers a pathway from entry-level roles to management positions. Whether you are new to the restaurant industry or an experienced professional, Panda provides a supportive platform to build a rewarding and long-term career. If you are enthusiastic about hospitality, enjoy working in a lively setting, and want to be part of a respected brand dedicated to delivering outstanding Asian dining experiences, this opportunity at Panda Restaurant Group is the right fit for you.
