Job Requirements
- Must pass a criminal background check and required clearances
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to sit for extended periods
- Ability to use computer and telephone
- Ability to communicate clearly in person and over the phone
- Willingness to work Monday to Friday with occasional weekends
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate's degree in related fields preferred
- Minimum two years experience in receptionist or customer service
- Experience in social service or community organizations preferred
- Familiarity with fuel assistance programs like LIHEAP is a plus
- Proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office
- Bilingual skills in English and a second language preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Job Duties
- Provide basic information to callers and visitors regarding fuel assistance programs
- Assist individuals in locating and accessing application forms and other necessary documents
- Assist with basic data entry or record-keeping related to client interactions
- Interact with clients in a respectful, patient, and understanding manner
- Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with program policies and regulations
- Communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Assist in resolving basic client inquiries or direct them to appropriate staff
- Assist with program-related tasks as assigned
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions
- Book appointments as necessary
- Follow appointment log regularly and make necessary changes
- Coordinate emergency appointments with informational specialists
- Direct handling of FedEx/UP packages
- Provide information regarding client applications by researching computer data
