Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • two or more years experience in a related field
  • valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
  • knowledge of DOT regulations and safety protocols
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to perform vehicle inspections
  • customer service orientation
  • capability to work in various weather conditions
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • physical stamina to bend, stoop, climb truck cab

Job Duties

  • Receives delivery schedule from Truck Dispatcher
  • organizes delivery route and makes necessary preparations
  • performs pre-delivery trip inspections following DOT safety specifications
  • drives tank truck or tractor-trailer to customer location
  • connects hose and opens valves for delivery
  • reads gauges and records amounts delivered
  • leaves delivery ticket receipt with customer
  • checks truck for repairs
  • maintains good customer contact skills
  • calls customers prior to loading
  • answers customer inquiries or refers them appropriately
  • maintains cleanliness of work area and vehicle
  • follows safety rules and operating procedures
  • adheres to traffic laws and DOT regulations
