Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- two or more years experience in a related field
- valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
- knowledge of DOT regulations and safety protocols
- strong communication skills
- ability to perform vehicle inspections
- customer service orientation
- capability to work in various weather conditions
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- physical stamina to bend, stoop, climb truck cab
Job Duties
- Receives delivery schedule from Truck Dispatcher
- organizes delivery route and makes necessary preparations
- performs pre-delivery trip inspections following DOT safety specifications
- drives tank truck or tractor-trailer to customer location
- connects hose and opens valves for delivery
- reads gauges and records amounts delivered
- leaves delivery ticket receipt with customer
- checks truck for repairs
- maintains good customer contact skills
- calls customers prior to loading
- answers customer inquiries or refers them appropriately
- maintains cleanliness of work area and vehicle
- follows safety rules and operating procedures
- adheres to traffic laws and DOT regulations
