Job Description

Takibi is a unique restaurant inspired by the Japanese concept of gathering around a fire, emphasizing not just exceptional cuisine but also warm hospitality and the spirit of the outdoors. The establishment uniquely combines these elements to create a welcoming environment where guests can experience a culinary journey driven by seasonality and collaboration. The restaurant's menu is centered on open-flame cooking techniques and carefully curated ingredients, ensuring that every dish served is crafted with the utmost care and quality. Takibi's philosophy celebrates the art of cooking as much as it values every individual who contributes to making each dining experience memorable. This approach fosters a strong team spirit among employees, where every member is essential in delivering high-quality food and unparalleled service to guests.

As a line cook at Takibi, this position offers an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about food and eager to work in a fast-paced, high-energy kitchen environment that holds craftsmanship and attention to detail in the highest regard. The role entails following precise recipes to prepare a variety of dishes including meats, seafood, vegetables, and soups, all prepared with care to meet Takibi's exacting standards. Line cooks will plate and garnish dishes with a keen eye for presentation, maintain kitchen cleanliness, stock ingredients, and adhere strictly to food safety protocols. Collaborating closely with chefs and other cooks is integral to ensuring smooth and efficient service during busy dining hours. Furthermore, line cooks at Takibi are expected to help taste, test, and adjust dishes to maintain the restaurant's high bar for quality. This role not only demands culinary skills but also requires interpersonal skills to work harmoniously within the team and contribute positively to the workplace culture.

Takibi recognizes the value of its employees and offers a supportive work environment that includes competitive wages ranging from $19 to $21 per hour, complemented by competitive tip distribution. The restaurant also provides comprehensive full-time benefits including employer-paid 90% individual medical, dental, and vision coverage, company-paid short-term and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, and an employee assistance program (EAP) for professional support when needed. Employees enjoy exclusive discounts on Snow Peak gear, camping equipment, and restaurant dining perks as additional perks. For individuals dedicated to growing their culinary skills, Takibi presents ample opportunities for professional development in a creative and respectful environment. The establishment actively fosters a culture of inclusivity, encouraging applicants from diverse backgrounds, including women, people of color, LGBTQ+ communities, and other underrepresented groups. This role is ideal for individuals who embrace hospitality in every interaction, share a passion for the outdoors, embrace curiosity and creativity, and prioritize making meaningful contributions to team success and customer satisfaction.
