The position available is for a Food Services - Front of House Associate, open to both full-time and part-time employment. Paying $18.00 per hour, this role is critical in ensuring excellent customer service and smooth operations within the deli and food service departments. The associate will be responsible for preparing and serving a diverse range of food products, including items from the deli, bakery, juice and barista counters, sandwich and pizza counters. They will maintain product quality, cleanliness, and organization of the service areas, and uphold health and safety standards. Effective communication with customers and team members, the ability to multitask under a busy shift environment, and a commitment to the cooperative's values are essential.

This role requires a flexible schedule, including availability for evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the co-op’s operational hours. Employees will be part of a dedicated team under the supervision of the Front of House Manager, contributing to the daily success and customer satisfaction that the co-op is known for.   • ability to work shifts with frequent standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching
  • food safety certification a plus
  • previous customer service experience
  • previous food service experience
  • experience or interest in natural foods and cooperatives

Job Duties

  • prepare and serve menu items according to recipe and portion guidelines
  • maintain a work pace which minimizes customer wait times
  • ensure that all product is in sellable condition and meets quality standards, making sure all unsellable items are disposed of
  • ensure that all front of house and deli cases (bakery, full serve, self-serve) are stocked and merchandised according to department standards
  • fulfill all shift duties as assigned
  • maintain front of house, deli and food storage areas in sanitary, orderly condition meeting health department standards
  • staff front of house counter, juice and barista counter, sandwich and pizza counter as assigned
  • participate in quarterly inventory
  • maintain current and accurate knowledge of products and ingredients
