Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and personable Gaming Floor Attendant to join our vibrant team. This role is crucial in maintaining the lively and welcoming atmosphere of our Off-Track Betting (OTB) floor. The Gaming Floor Attendant is responsible for proactively engaging with guests by greeting them warmly and providing courteous service throughout their visit. This position involves a significant amount of customer interaction, requiring the attendant to answer questions, build rapport with returning customers, and ensure a friendly, upbeat environment.

In addition to customer service duties, the attendant will have responsibilities related to handling financial transactions quickly and accurately, including managing cash and jackpots on gaming terminals. The role also involves performing minor maintenance and repairs on various gaming terminals to ensure all equipment operates smoothly and efficiently. Protecting company assets is a critical part of the job, as the attendant must adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, and gaming regulations.

We expect the successful candidate to be attentive and enthusiastic while walking the gaming floor, identifying opportunities to assist guests with terminal operations, Bonuses, promotions, and amenities. The attendant will listen patiently to guest concerns and complaints and work towards resolving them to maintain customer satisfaction. Keeping the gaming area clean, organized, and safe is another vital function, including tasks such as clearing empty drinks and picking up trash.

This position requires collaboration with colleagues and supervisors to ensure smooth operations and compliance with all applicable gaming laws and internal controls. The Gaming Floor Attendant must be comfortable working under varying conditions, including busy periods, and be adaptable to work longer hours when needed.

Job Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Verify right to work in the United States
  • Obtain and maintain the required Gaming License
  • Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screenings
  • Friendly personality comfortable initiating greetings and conversations
  • Experience using basic tools
  • Previous proven experience accurately counting, handling, and keeping track of money
  • Ability to quickly learn pari-mutual equipment and rules and regulations
  • Basic understanding of and experience using computers and computer programs
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, including both written and verbal forms
  • Professional appearance and personal hygiene as deemed appropriate by supervisor
  • Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
  • Work is performed indoors
  • More than 40 hours a week will be required at times
  • Work hours subject to change
  • Must be able to work long hours under busy conditions
  • Subject to hazards which may cause personal bodily harm including smoke, common colds, influenza, dust, odors, and elevated noise levels
  • Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces
  • Duties may involve walking, standing for long periods of time, sitting and crouching
  • Specific required movements include trunk-bend, twist, rotate, push, pull, and carry

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Walk the gaming area looking for opportunities to interact with internal and external guests displaying an attentive, upbeat, and enthusiastic demeanor throughout each interaction
  • Clearly communicate how terminals play and operate, Winners Club benefits, internal promotions, and site amenities
  • Calmly listen to guest concerns and complaints
  • attempt to resolve as possible
  • Accurately count and maintain cash bank and transactions
  • Keep gaming area clean, stocked, secured, and well maintained, including but not limited to, picking up trash, clearing empty drinks, etc.
  • Troubleshoot minor repairs with wagering terminals and player tracking system as needed
  • Work effectively with staff and guests, including but not limited to, working through disagreements in a courteous manner
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, litle 31, and federal regulations, as they apply to the position
  • Maintain good working relations through all channels of supervisors, employees, and regulators
  • Follow instructions of the supervisor
  • Efficiently perform duties in both calm and busy situations
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
