The Highlands is currently seeking Servers to join their team on either a full-time or part-time basis, with the added benefit of no late-night shifts, making it an excellent opportunity for those seeking work-life balance. The pay rate for this position is $19.00 per hour. Serving as a Server at The Highlands involves working primarily in the dining room, providing meal service to senior residents in a manner that ensures operations are pleasant and efficient. The role requires an individual who not only serves food but also supports the dining experience with attention to detail, care for residents' dietary needs, and a cooperative spirit with other dining staff and kitchen team members.

In this role, Servers assist with set-ups, take and serve orders, deliver trays upon request, bus tables, and participate in maintaining a safe and clean environment. Servers are also tasked with assisting in food preparation preparation and covering, managing dining equipment usage, and ensuring infection control policies are followed. Strong communication skills are necessary to relate to the residents effectively and act as a liaison between the food service department and them. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • ability to communicate by speaking, seeing, and hearing
  • excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • free of communicable disease
  • ability to read, write, and speak English
  • ability to relate to residents and associates in courteous and diplomatic manner
  • completion of drug testing and criminal record background check upon hire
  • physical ability to bend, stand, lift, stoop, sit, walk, stretch and lift/carry up to 40 pounds
  • adherence to all policies and procedures

Job Duties

  • Administer or follow written and oral directions
  • communicate and relate to community residents

  • pour and cover beverages, assist in preparing and covering food

  • work cooperatively with other dining room associates to produce pleasant and efficient dining operation
  • understand and relate the menu to residents

  • maintain neat, clean appearance and follow dress code as directed by chef or cook
