Admiral Beverage is currently seeking a Cashier to join their team at the Mesilla Park, New Mexico location. This position plays a critical role in the company’s day-to-day operations, specifically within their route sales operations. The Cashier is responsible for the daily closeout of route sales and the collection of cash from these routes. This role demands meticulous attention to detail and proficiency in basic math skills to ensure accuracy in accounting for transactions at the end of each day. The ideal candidate must also exhibit strong communication skills, using tact and professionalism to resolve any conflicts or discrepancies related to accounting errors.
In addition to handling cash and documentation, the Cashier will work closely with drivers and the sales team to reconcile invoices and cash receipts, prepare necessary reports, and operate coin counting machines. They will also be responsible for securing all monies properly, ensuring the safe handling of funds after tagging and bagging them. Physical requirements include the ability to frequently move up to 30 pounds, and the work environment typically experiences moderate noise levels. Job Duties
- Receives, counts, documents and deposits cash from daily route receipts
- fills out necessary bank deposit documentation
- closes out route computers and creates required reports including end loading report, sales report, checklist report, full service report and cash report
- makes copies of required reports
- prepares vendor coin boxes for the next day’s schedule
- rolls needed coins for full service routes
- reconciles invoices with daily cash receipts by correcting errors, collecting shortages or paying overages to drivers
- operates coin counting machine
- records amounts received and prepares reports of transactions
- secures all monies into safe after tying and tagging each bag
- accounts for all load sheets, invoices and cash receipts on a daily basis
- performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
