Job Requirements

  • Must be able to deal tactfully with staff, residents and visitors
  • must be able to follow written instructions
  • must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment and appearance of work areas for regular inspection of food service areas for sanitation, safety and proper performance of assigned duties
  • must maintain confidentiality of resident information
  • must attend required training and education sessions offered by the facility
  • may be required to lift, push, pull and move equipment, supplies, etc, in excess of fifty pounds with a team member or by self throughout the workday
  • must obtain a Food Handlers Card within one month of hire date
  • must have adequate reading abilities to read and understand diet cards, special diet menus and other food service procedures

Job Qualifications

  • No prior experience required

Job Duties

  • Perform wait staff duties during meal times
  • greet guests
  • offer water and beverages
  • receive menu orders
  • communicate with the line cook
  • deliver orders
  • assist residents and guests with dining needs in a timely manner
  • clear, clean and set dining room tables to avoid cross contamination
  • prepare condiments for daily specials in-house and to-go prior to mealtime
  • perform dishwashing and cleaning procedures
  • follow safety regulations and established infection control, universal precautions, policies and procedures
  • maintain a pleasant dining environment for residents, guests and staff
  • assist in maintaining wait staff service area
  • dispose of food and waste according to policies
  • provide documentation of food and equipment temperatures
  • properly label and store food items
  • maintain acceptable personal hygiene and comply with dress code
  • attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned
