The Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) Manager role is a pivotal leadership position responsible for ensuring that the company's food manufacturing operations meet and exceed all food safety and quality standards. This permanent, full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $115,000 to $120,000 per year, reflecting the significance and expertise required for managing comprehensive FSQA programs. The FSQA Manager will spearhead the development, implementation, and enforcement of robust food safety protocols, quality control systems, and regulatory compliance while fostering a culture of safety and quality across the organization.

As the FSQA Manager, you will oversee critical food safety standards such as Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), Allergen Requirements, and Pest Control. Your leadership will ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and compliance with FDA and other relevant regulatory bodies. Managing the Quality Control (QC) Lab environment is also a vital responsibility to ensure proper sanitation and efficient GMP audits.

This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Research and Development (R&D), to integrate quality considerations into product development. You will manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), oversee positive release programs to guarantee product quality, and prepare essential documentation such as Certificates of Analysis (COA) and line sheets. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential to analyze data, prepare reports, and manage documentation efficiently.

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 5 years experience in food manufacturing operations focusing on food safety and quality assurance. Certification as a PCQI and HACCP is mandatory. A proven background working in a QC lab and a strong understanding of GMP audits and regulatory requirements is crucial for success in this position.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of food safety and quality assurance programs including PCQI, HACCP, Allergen Requirements, and Pest Control
  • develop and implement quality control programs and preventative measures to ensure product safety and regulatory compliance
  • manage the QC Lab environment ensuring proper sanitation and adherence to GMP audits
  • conduct regular reviews and updates of policies and procedures to comply with changing regulations
  • prepare and maintain line sheets and materials ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • collaborate with Research and Development (R&D) team to integrate quality considerations into product development
  • oversee the Positive Release Program to ensure only products meeting stringent quality standards are released
  • manage the CAPA process to promptly address and resolve issues
  • prepare and review Certificates of Analysis (COA) and other quality-related reports
  • utilize Microsoft Office for report preparation, data analysis, and documentation management
  • ensure compliance with FDA regulations and other relevant regulatory bodies
  • foster a culture of safety and quality within the organization promoting awareness among all staff
