Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous hospital and food service experience preferred
  • ability to communicate effectively in English
  • ability to communicate well with co-workers and guests
  • ability to demonstrate clear oral and written communication skills
  • ability to effectively plan and prioritize work
  • ability to follow simple recipes
  • ability to maintain collaborative working relationships
  • ability to provide exceptional customer service
  • knowledge and ability to operate basic kitchen equipment
  • knowledge of food safety guidelines
  • PC competency
  • working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel)

Job Duties

  • Assist dishwasher with cleaning and sanitizing dishes
  • assist in orienting new employees to department
  • assist in setting up, serving and breaking down catered events
  • clean freezers, refrigerators and storage areas
  • deliver and serve food to patients, family and employees
  • help other kitchen personnel in the preparation and arrangement of meals
  • help with assigned cleaning and date/label duties
  • set up trays according to department guidelines
  • stock supplies
  • take all patient and guest food requests
  • other duties as assigned
