Job Requirements
- Two years of full-time work experience in general office, clerical, data entry, or related work
- Successful completion of typing test with a score of 40 or greater
- Experience or training in clerical accounting, office management, and data entry
- Ability to apply math skills to accounting systems
- Pass a background check prior to employment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to operate the Iowa Vital Events System and related software
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of full-time work experience in general office, clerical, data entry, or related work
- Ability to use and modify electronic spreadsheet software such as EXCEL
- Ability to apply math skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, fractions, and basic algebra
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to read and understand basic financial and statistical reports
- Experience in office management or related administrative functions
- Typing speed of 40 words per minute or greater
Job Duties
- Provide a complete and comprehensive review of documents submitted to the bureau
- Understand statutory requirements for document acceptance or rejection
- Accurately enter documentation into the Iowa Vital Events System
- Scan and attach documents to the system and escalate orders for processing
- Communicate with customers verbally and in writing regarding application status or rejections
- Search and verify records in the Iowa Vital Events System
- Accept, record, and balance fees collected daily
