Job Description
Rye Street Tavern is a distinguished dining destination located in the vibrant Baltimore Peninsula and operated under the esteemed Clyde's Restaurant Group, which proudly owns and manages 14 unique restaurant concepts throughout the DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia) area. Established in 1963, Clyde's Restaurant Group is renowned for its commitment to exceptional guest service and creating positive, supportive work environments. The Group's portfolio includes well-known establishments such as Clyde's, Old Ebbitt Grill, The Hamilton, and the upcoming Ebbitt House set to open in Spring 2026. Rye Street Tavern itself is easily accessible by car and public transportation, including the Charm City Circulator and local MTA bus routes, making it a convenient choice for both patrons and staff.
Joining the team at Rye Street Tavern means becoming part of a stable and respected company that values its employees and offers a workplace culture centered on courtesy, dignity, and respect. The role available is that of a Server / Front Waiter, a position integral to delivering the exceptional dining experiences that the restaurant is celebrated for. This opportunity provides competitive compensation ranging from $1000 to $1500 per week, flexible scheduling options including part-time, full-time, and on-call shifts, and a positive work environment that fosters professional growth and comprehensive training.
As a Server / Front Waiter, you will play a vital role in setting the tone for guests’ dining experiences. Responsibilities include greeting guests warmly upon arrival, guiding them through menu options with informed suggestions, and efficiently relaying orders to the bar and kitchen using the point-of-sale (POS) system. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting, ensuring guests’ needs are anticipated and met courteously. Furthermore, the position involves managing tasks such as bussing tables, preparing the dining setup for subsequent courses, handling billing and payment transactions, and resolving guests' concerns with professionalism and respect.
The position offers numerous benefits designed to support employees’ overall well-being and career advancement. These include a generous 401k plan with immediate participation and a competitive company match, a top-tier health plan covering medical, dental, vision, telemedicine, and wellness services, and restaurant discounts of 25% at all Clyde’s Restaurant Group locations for employees and a guest. Additionally, employees benefit from a 50% meal discount during their shifts, access to an Employee Assistance Program offering legal, emotional, and financial support, various wellness resources such as digital Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and annual flu shots, and financial assistance funds for those in need. The company emphasizes merit recognition and career growth opportunities, motivating team members to excel and grow within the organization.
If you are a friendly, hardworking individual who is hospitality-driven, problem-solving oriented, and committed to providing excellent customer service, Rye Street Tavern welcomes your application. The company encourages applicants from diverse backgrounds and values inclusive hiring practices. Flexibility to work mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, and weekdays as needed is essential for this role. Even if you do not meet every requirement, the organization invites you to apply and take the first step toward a rewarding career with a reputable and dynamic restaurant group.
