The role of the Bellperson at Westin Honolulu represents a critical guest services function aimed at ensuring every visitor enjoys seamless assistance with their stay, starting from arrival through departure. This part-time, non-management position offers hourly pay ranging from $26.97 to $33.71, including tip eligibility, reflecting the value placed on excellent service delivery. A valid driver's license and a clean driving abstract are mandatory requirements for this position, given the nature of the job involving guest transportation and luggage handling.
As a Bellperson, you will greet guests warmly and provide essential information regarding hotel amenities, services, and schedules, as well as local attractions and areas of interest. Your presence will be a comforting first and last impression, opening doors, assisting with luggage storage and retrieval, and offering transportation services such as taxi or shuttle bookings when needed. Coordination with other hotel staff including bell staff and service personnel ensures a smooth and enjoyable guest experience.
This role requires physical stamina, as it involves standing, walking, and lifting objects weighing under 50 pounds independently and assisting with heavier items up to 75 pounds. You must demonstrate attention to safety protocols, maintaining a tidy appearance and professional demeanor, and navigating hotel premises including uneven or slippery surfaces with care. Communication skills are paramount in this guest-facing role; you will use clear, professional language to interact effectively with guests and colleagues alike. Additional responsibilities include monitoring security concerns, reporting maintenance issues, assisting with employee mentoring and training efforts, and providing ongoing follow-up to guest requests or complaints to ensure satisfaction.

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
