Job Requirements
- High school education or equivalent experience
- One or more full years employment experience in a related position
- Understanding of all hotel front office procedures
- Mathematical aptitude and knowledge of cash handling procedures
- Experience in customer service and dealing with the public
- Knowledge of hotel policies and ability to determine course of action
- Supervision and management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Computer literacy
- Ability to work two overnight shifts weekly
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods
- Ability to lift, carry, push and pull limited guest luggage and bell carts up to 50 lbs
Job Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent experience
- One or more full years of employment experience in a related position
- Understanding of all hotel front office procedures
- High school graduate level mathematical aptitude and knowledge of standard cash handling procedures and computerized cash register systems
- Experience dealing directly with the public and general customer service skills
- Knowledge of company and hotel policies and procedures with ability to determine appropriate actions
- Supervision and management skills
- Excellent communication skills to convey information and hotel services to management and guests
- Ability to operate computer, calculator, and telephone keyboards for cash handling and paperwork processing
Job Duties
- Supervise the operations of the front desk to ensure an optimal level of service and hospitality is provided to the guests
- Train, direct the work of, resolve issues/problems and coach and counsel the front desk team members to ensure a quality operation
- Resolve customer issues, complaints, problems in a quick, efficient manner to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality service
- Complete established check-in procedures for arriving guests and facilitate guest departure to close accounts and prepare rooms for the next guest
- Regularly calculate and/or post monies, receipts, guest accounts and other forms of credit using accurate cash handling methods to present timely and precise hotel charges upon check-out and maintain accurate hotel records
- Courteously and accurately answer inquiries from potential guests and accept hotel reservations using suggestive selling techniques to increase occupancy and revenue
- Maintain good customer relations by staying informed about in-house and local area functions to answer guest questions and concerns both in person and by phone
- Operate PBX equipment including assisting outgoing calls, scheduling wake-up calls, and paging guests
- Control cash transactions at the front desk with full responsibility for personal bank as per hotel policy
- Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times
