The role of Front Desk Supervisor is a crucial position within our hotel, acting as the first point of contact for guests and embodying the company culture and guiding principles through every interaction. As the Front Desk Supervisor, you will lead and supervise the guest service staff to ensure an exceptional guest arrival and departure experience. Your responsibilities will include managing daily operations at the front desk, scheduling staff based on forecasted needs, and adjusting staffing dynamically to meet changes in demand. You will participate actively in guest check-in and checkout procedures, provide concierge services by offering local knowledge about attractions and events, and ensure prompt and courteous communication with guests and team members alike.
Beyond guest relations, this position requires effective teamwork, conflict resolution, and maintaining a favorable image of the hotel to both guests and the public. You will collaborate with housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverage teams to fulfill guest requests efficiently. The Front Desk Supervisor also oversees financial control procedures, ensuring staff adherence, and manages the operational communication log to keep all shifts informed and aligned. Physical aspects of the job include standing for extended periods, moving and lifting items up to 50 pounds, as well as engaging in active communication and guest interaction throughout the workday. Job Requirements
- Acts as the manager on duty when assigned
- working in other areas of the hotel when needed to assist operations
- keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance
- performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures
- maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company associates to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate
- ability to communicate with guests and team members verbally or in written form
- working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- advanced working knowledge of property management

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in guest services or hospitality preferred
- excellent communication, organizational and customer service skills
- advanced working knowledge of property management systems
- working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- ability to work and interact with associates on every level
- ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form
- ability to provide concierge services with local knowledge
- strong conflict resolution skills
- ability to manage and supervise a team
- ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
Job Duties
- Be visible at the front desk
- schedules associates in accordance with forecasted sales
- adjusts staffing as necessary for sudden changes
- plan, assign, supervise and participate in the daily activities of the Guest Service staff
- participates in the prompt and courteous check in and checkout of guests
- use guests' names when communicating with them
- provide gracious and efficient telephone service
- demonstrate a working knowledge of all services, facilities and programs of the hotel and effectively assist guests
- respond to guests' requests promptly, efficiently, and courteously
- communicate effectively
- arrange fulfillment of guest services by working with housekeeping, maintenance and food and beverage where applicable
- stay current with developments in the hotel by reviewing the communication log book each shift
- update log book
- resolve conflicts and negotiate effectively
- demonstrate teamwork by cooperating, assisting, and communicating effectively with co-workers
- provide concierge service with fluent knowledge of area, attractions, restaurants, special events, and guest amenities
- deliver requested items to guestrooms such as rollaway beds, cribs, pillows, towels, luggage etc.
- confirm all duties and reports as specified on the shift checklist are completed accurately
- ensure staff is trained in financial control procedures and follows them regularly
