Job Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Minimum of 1 year customer service experience in a healthcare office setting preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management systems is a plus

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year customer service experience in a healthcare office setting preferred

  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management systems is a plus

Job Duties

  • Greet patients and visitors promptly and courteously in person and over the phone
  • Record patient arrivals accurately in the Practice Management System (EMR)
  • Verify patient identity and create new patient accounts when necessary
  • Manage appointment scheduling and follow up on no-show patients
  • Verify insurance eligibility and financial information using facility tools
  • Collect patient copays and balances maintaining confidentiality
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming reception area
  • Respond promptly and effectively to patients in distress or emergency situations
  • Follow all policies and procedures and assist with team efforts to achieve operational goals
  • Answer telephone calls politely and timely
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Practice Manager or Area Practice Manager
