Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Close out daily shift and complete necessary documentation
  • Open next day shift including documentation preparation
  • Provide highest quality customer service at all times
  • Greet customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome
  • Utilize guest names in interactions whenever possible
  • Respond promptly to guest-related concerns including complaints and special requests
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of emergency and security procedures
  • Perform basic routine maintenance and operate mechanical guestroom units
  • Operate laundry equipment
  • Inform maintenance personnel of all maintenance needs
  • Wear proper uniform attire at all times
  • Maintain personal cleanliness and neat appearance
  • Practice safety standards
  • Move miscellaneous items weighing up to 40 lbs
  • Work varying schedules
  • Ensure regular attendance
  • Check guests in and out efficiently and friendly
  • Post guest changes and compute guest bills using PMS
  • Collect payments and follow cash handling procedures
  • Promote hotel's marketing programs
  • Record corporate and leisure business information
  • Maintain positive interaction with sales personnel
  • Handle guest mail and messages
  • Develop knowledge of hotel staff, room locations, rates, amenities, and selling strategies
  • Assist with parking lot guest activities
  • Take reservation requests efficiently
  • Answer switchboard with proper telephone etiquette
  • Block rooms and handle special requests
  • Monitor room availability
  • Handle safe deposits
  • Keep lobby and guest areas clean
  • Offer and handle wake-up calls
  • Open and close shift and make cash drops
  • Balance cash and credit transactions
  • Ensure proper authorization for credit card transactions
  • Monitor intake to protect against counterfeit bills
  • Inform management of guest or system issues
  • Communicate with incoming staff and management
  • Handle lost and found inquiries
  • Maintain office supplies
  • Develop knowledge of local attractions and roadways
  • Send and receive facsimiles
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record
