Job Requirements

  • A four-year college degree or equivalent education or experience
  • Two to three years in a related hotel position
  • Discipline-specific hospitality industry and general hotel department knowledge
  • Supervisory experience in hospitality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to handle cash and credit transactions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Knowledge of general office equipment and cash register operation
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the hotel
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Capacity for occasional twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, and walking
  • Frequent talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling
  • Availability for evening shifts and weekends primarily

Job Duties

  • Work with the hotel General Manager to achieve and exceed guest satisfaction scores in all areas of the hotel
  • Be responsible for front desk operations satisfaction scores and immediately address any deficiencies
  • Collaborate with corporate training to develop action plans to improve guest satisfaction scores
  • Effectively train guest service agents on front desk procedures
  • Recruit, interview, and select qualified candidates for front desk positions with the General Manager
  • Prepare weekly schedules for front office staff
  • Address performance deficiencies through coaching and disciplinary actions
  • Complete timely performance evaluations for front office staff
  • Post weekly guest satisfaction scores for hotel associates to review
  • Oversee and manage Front Office operations ensuring efficient service and guest care
  • Attend to guest and group special needs and solve problems with grace
  • Monitor daily revenue and expenses to minimize loss and maximize profit
  • Manage Front Office staff by fostering a motivated, learning environment and leading by example
  • Ensure guest service agents comply with uniform and name badge standards
  • Produce timely, high-quality reports for corporate sharing
  • Ensure rates are accurate and monitored daily
  • Manage inventory in the property management system proficiently
  • Frequently review work from the night auditor
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality
  • Adhere to dress code and grooming standards
  • Perform additional duties as directed by supervisors
  • Act as Manager on Duty as needed
