Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Front Office Manager to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role is integral to overseeing all front desk operations, including staff training, inter-department communication, and scheduling to ensure smooth and efficient guest services. The Front Office Manager will be responsible for not only managing daily operations but also for upholding Hyatt’s rigorous service standards through coaching and counseling of team members. This position demands strong leadership skills and excellent communication to maintain a warm, welcoming, and efficient front office environment that enhances guest satisfaction.

In addition to managing operational responsibilities, the Front Office Manager will actively engage in responding promptly to guest requests and resolving complaints with professionalism and friendliness. The role involves developing budgets and labor cost plans, maintaining accurate guest room inventory, and ensuring strict adherence to financial and operational policies. Coordination with housekeeping and other departments to facilitate seamless service delivery is also a critical aspect of the position.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 4 years or more of progressive hotel rooms management experience
  • at least 2 years progressive management experience within the rooms division of a hotel
  • proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills
  • strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • ability to lead and motivate a team
  • experience managing budgets and labor costs
  • knowledge of front office operations and hospitality service standards

Job Qualifications

  • 4 years or more of progressive hotel rooms management experience typically with Hyatt
  • service oriented style with professional presentation skills
  • at least 2 years progressive management experience within the rooms division of a hotel
  • must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line
  • clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English
  • must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills

Job Duties

  • manage the hotel’s front office operations
  • develop and recommend the budget, labor cost plans and objectives, and manage within those approved plans
  • maintain guest room inventory
  • coach and counsel employees to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures
  • perform all tasks of a front office staff as needed, to facilitate service
  • ensure all operations and cash handling are done per policies and procedures
  • maintain excellent communication with the housekeeping department
  • maintain information on prices, rates, specials, packages, programs, etc., while ensuring all staff are trained in all areas
  • analyze, investigate, and resolve guest complaints
  • create expectations, lead people, manage processes, and hold people accountable for the agreed upon activities and timetables
  • ensure proper staffing levels for customer service goals
