More than just a place to enjoy a glass of wine, Only the Wild Ones functions as a gathering place, a home for conversation, connection, music, creativity, and memorable experiences. The venue is designed to foster a welcoming atmosphere that is both energetic and relaxed, appealing to guests who seek a place to discover new wine producers, celebrate special moments, meet friends, or simply enjoy a late-night glass of wine in a lively setting.
The wine program at Only the Wild Ones is carefully curated with a focus on sustainable farming practices and wines that tell a story. The bar champions both established and emerging winemakers from around the world, with an emphasis on wines that reflect a strong sense of place and craftsmanship. This approach makes wine fun, engaging, and accessible to all patrons without being intimidating. The team at Only the Wild Ones is passionate about quality wine and exceptional hospitality, striving to create an environment where customers genuinely want to spend their time.
The position available is a leadership role that involves managing and evolving the wine program while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within the venue. Reporting closely to the General Manager and Assistant General Manager, the successful candidate will contribute significantly to the overall guest experience by leading the wine program and supervising the front-of-house operations. This full-time role offers competitive compensation based on experience, benefits, and a bonus program, making it an attractive opportunity for those passionate about wine and hospitality.
This leadership role requires a candidate with 3 or more years of front-of-house management experience or assistant general manager experience, combined with extensive wine training or knowledge. The role demands not only a deep understanding of wine but also the ability to lead, mentor, and inspire the front-of-house team. Responsibilities include curating the wine list, managing inventory and vendor relationships, executing wine-related events and tastings, and maintaining high standards of hospitality and service on the floor. The position also involves operational duties such as scheduling, staffing, opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and implementing operational systems.
A key part of the role is to create memorable experiences for guests through genuine hospitality and expert wine knowledge. Building relationships with regular patrons and fostering a strong sense of community are essential to the culture Only the Wild Ones promotes. The ideal candidate will be someone who thrives in a dynamic, service-focused environment and has a passion for hospitality, wine, culture, and community. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required, reflecting the full commitment necessary to succeed in this role.
