- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance

- Typing and keyboarding skills
- Knowledgeable user of government office and network systems including word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging, telecommunications
- Ability to answer multi-line phone system
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
- Experience working in government or litigation support environment preferred
- Prior receptionist or clerical experience preferred
- Undergraduate degree preferred
- Current or active security clearance preferred
Job Duties
- Receives telephone calls and visitors to the office
- Controls access to the office ensuring only properly cleared visitors are authorized entry
- Notifies staff members of visitors or incoming telephone calls
- Takes and gives messages when staff members are unavailable
- Handles citizen complaints over the telephone and in person
- Directs callers or visitors to proper agencies and provides complaint forms
- Responds to inquiries providing general information about office programs
- Receives legal documents and notifies appropriate persons
- Organizes and maintains forms and documents in prescribed manner
- Maintains up-to-date telephone listings and files of addresses
- Reserves conference rooms upon request
- Receives, reviews, and distributes incoming mail including service of process
- Notifies staff of hand-delivered mail, FedEx, UPS deliveries, and faxes
- Submits interoffice orders for office supplies as needed
- Reports and follows up on malfunctioning equipment
- Indexes files and files documents with the Clerk's Office
- Provides courier services to courthouses and federal agencies as required
