Job Requirements

  • associate degree in office assistant or medical assistant preferred
  • proficient in use of computer Windows based programs, spreadsheets, word processing, and scheduling programs
  • ability to address patient concerns and questions in a positive proactive manner
  • ability to handle multiple tasks professionally, organized, and friendly
  • excellent communication skills
  • career readiness certificate

Job Duties

  • Answer phones
  • take messages and route to appropriate personnel
  • unlock front door and receptionist window at required times
  • greet patients, verify insurance information and collect any fees due before patient is seen by a provider
  • check patient in and out on computer system including verification of insurance and demographic information
  • process office visit charges and patient payment transactions timely according to policy
  • complete end-of-day reports and reconcile patient accounts with Site Leader
  • prepare for next day appointments by reviewing schedule for accuracy and confirming insurance status
  • manage new patient requests by setting up patient packets and charts
  • maintain computer chart accuracy
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of front desk and office supply cabinet
