Pet Paradise is currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Front Desk Supervisor with strong leadership and customer service skills. This full-time role starts at $16.50 per hour with scheduled pay increases based on tenure. The Front Desk Supervisor serves as an integral member of the management team by leading and supporting the front desk associates, ensuring top-quality customer interactions, and maintaining smooth daily operations. This position goes beyond traditional receptionist duties, requiring hands-on involvement in pet handling, coaching staff, handling cash management, and staying engaged with guests and their pets. The ideal candidate will be passionate about pets, able to work in a physically demanding environment, and comfortable managing both the team and front desk responsibilities during operating hours.

Key responsibilities include supervising and coaching front desk team members following company policies and standards, assisting with employee training and performance evaluations, reporting any hazards or behavioral issues, and directly contributing to front desk tasks such as check-ins, check-outs, customer service, and lobby upkeep. The role demands excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills along with flexibility to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times. A valid driver's license and ability to pass a criminal background check are also required.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Physical ability to perform manual tasks such as pet handling, walking, cleaning, and suite maintenance
  • Experience in customer service roles highly preferred
  • Prior supervisory experience a plus
  • Strong organizational, cash handling, and sales skills
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on leadership role
  • Ability to be around dogs of various sizes and lift up to 60 pounds
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass background check

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years or more of customer service experience including call center or receptionist roles preferred
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong organizational, cash management, and sales skills
  • Comfortable leading by example with hands-on task management
  • Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and able to lift up to 60 lbs
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible availability including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a criminal background check

Job Duties

  • Providing direct supervision of front desk associates including leading, training, and coaching associates based on company standards, policies, and guidelines
  • Assisting management with training employees, assigning and directing work, coaching, and conducting employee performance reviews
  • Reporting and documenting potential hazards or behavioral problems involving guests or employees to management
  • Assisting with front desk functions when needed including processing check-ins and check-outs, answering phone calls, deescalating customer service issues, and maintaining cleanliness of the lobby
  • Assisting new and existing team members in completing required LMS courses and training guides
  • Performing additional duties as required by management
