Job Description

Watermark BR is a distinguished hotel situated in the heart of beautiful downtown Baton Rouge. Part of the Marriott Autograph Collection, it offers guests a unique blend of historic charm and modern luxury. The hotel is known for its iconic, one-of-a-kind design that reflects the rich history of its 1927 origins as Baton Rouge's first skyscraper and the former headquarters of the Louisiana Trust & Savings Bank. With its Art Deco and Greek Revival architectural elements, Watermark BR stands out as an eclectic and elegant landmark. It features meticulously preserved murals by New Orleans artist Angela Gregory, carved marble walls, and a grand staircase leading to the original bank vaults, all of which contribute to an ambiance of timeless sophistication. Towering above downtown and overlooking the Mississippi River, Watermark BR is a symbol of the city's heritage and grandeur, blending vintage design influences from the 1920s to the 1960s with contemporary comforts.

The hotel is seeking a full-time Front Desk (Guest Services) Supervisor who will report directly to the Guest Services Manager / Director of Rooms. This role is pivotal in ensuring an exceptional guest experience, providing attentive, courteous, and efficient service throughout the entire guest stay—from prior to arrival to checkout. The Front Desk Supervisor plays a crucial role in maximizing room revenue and occupancy by effectively handling reservations, accommodating VIP and special guest requests, and maintaining excellent communication and coordination with various departments.

This role requires a seasoned professional with at least two to three years of progressive experience in the hotel or a related field, ideally with previous supervisory experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong operational knowledge of front desk computer systems and be adept at managing reservation data, guest requests, and daily reporting tools such as the Front Office log and Trace File. They will also be responsible for ensuring timely handling of messages, packages, and mail, as well as maintaining a deep familiarity with in-house groups and their specific needs. A valid driver's license from the applicable state is required, complementing the ability to fulfill any off-site guest service needs.

Watermark BR prides itself on offering not only a stimulating and supportive work environment but also comprehensive benefits to eligible team members. These include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability plans, a Team Member Assistance Program, discounted room stays, paid holidays, paid vacation and sick time, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan. As an employer committed to diversity and inclusion, Watermark BR welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and proudly participates in E-Verify to ensure a fair hiring process. The Front Desk Supervisor position is an excellent opportunity for hospitality professionals eager to contribute to an iconic establishment renowned for historic elegance and superior guest service excellence, making a lasting impact on the Baton Rouge hospitality scene.
