The Front Desk Supervisor role within HHM Hotels is a vital leadership position responsible for overseeing front desk operations in alignment with the company’s guest service, quality, and sustainability standards. This position involves supervising daily activities at the front desk and ensuring the team delivers the highest level of guest service while adhering to established hotel policies and core values. The supervisor plays an essential role in coaching, training, and scheduling front desk associates to ensure their performance meets the brand’s expectations. By handling guest complaints with thorough attention and effective problem-solving, the Front Desk Supervisor directly contributes to improving guest satisfaction scores and fostering loyal guest relationships. This position requires active participation in guest interaction activities such as lobby ambassador duties to build personalized connections and promote repeat stays.
Additionally, the Front Desk Supervisor may serve as the acting leader in the absence of the Front Office Manager or Assistant General Manager, overseeing the front office’s smooth operation. Responsibilities include performing bookkeeping tasks such as account balancing and auditing, managing reservations, promoting brand-specific marketing initiatives, and maintaining welcoming and clean public areas as part of the hotel’s sustainability program. The role demands effective communication and organizational skills, a commitment to sustainable hotel practices under the EarthView program, and compliance with safety regulations including OSHA standards.

Job Requirements

Job Duties
- Interview, select, train, schedule, coach, and support associates ensuring they perform according to brand or hotel standards and core values
- Resolve guest complaints and concerns by researching and determining effective solutions
- Monitor guest satisfaction scores and work to increase departmental and overall satisfaction
- Participate in lobby ambassador activities to build guest relationships and encourage repeat stays
- Oversee front office operations in the absence of the Front Office Manager or Assistant General Manager
- Perform bookkeeping activities including balancing accounts and audits
- Make and confirm reservations
- Promote Hersha Hospitality and brand marketing programs
- Greet guests upon arrival and register them
- Provide welcome folders and room keys to guests
- Compute bills, handle cash transactions, and make change
- Close out guest accounts and negotiate compromises if necessary
- Create action plans to address guest service deficiencies
- Maintain cleanliness and appearance of hotel entrance, reception, and public areas
- Follow sustainability practices related to HHM's EarthView program
- Practice safety habits and comply with OSHA standards
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
